Sonam Kapoor Can’t Wait To Begin Shooting For Her First Project Post Pregnancy: 'I Am Super Excited’
Sonam was last seen in the 2023 crime-thriller ‘Blind,’ a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name

Sonam Kapoor has been missing from the screen for a long time. The actress, who was last seen in Blind, has confirmed that she will be soon facing the camera once again. The shooting will start next year and other details are kept under wrap. This will be Sonam Kapoor’s first project post-pregnancy early next year. It will be a streaming project on a global platform.

Sonam confirms, “I’m super excited to face the camera again post my pregnancy. I love being an actor and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession. Human beings fascinate me and I love playing varied roles. I’m looking forward to my next.”

She says, “I will return to the sets early next year. Details of this project is currently getting locked so I won’t be able to talk at length till the announcement is made. It’s a big project. That’s all I can say right now.”

On the professional front, Sonam was last seen in the 2023 crime-thriller ‘Blind,’ a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name. Directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, the film marked Sonam’s return to the screen after a six-year break following ‘The Zoya Factor.’ Up next, she will star in ‘Battle for Bittora,’ an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel. Sonam Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’.

Recently, Sonam Kapoor faced heavy backlash on social media for her ‘fake accent’ in a viral video. In the clip, Sonam discusses her favourite summer holiday destination, luxury brands, and haircare secrets, but it’s her accent that has caught the attention of netizens. Many users took to Reddit to criticize her, recalling past instances where she was mocked for the same reason.

Some users pointed out her mispronunciation of certain words due to the accent, while others speculated that her speech was affected by alleged lip fillers. One user commented, “She’s doing the opposite of what our Foreign Minister Mr. Jaishankar does—while he’s building international relations, she might just get Indians banned from other countries with that accent.”
