Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah maker Asit Kumarr Modi has finally reacted to Gurucharan Singh’s missing news. On Wednesday, Asit told an entertainment portal that he was left ‘shocked’ when he learnt that Singh has gone missing. He remembered the time Gurucharan used to play the role of Sodhi in TMKOC and revealed that he had good relations with all.
“This is very painful and shocking news. He was very loving towards his family. He took the whole resonsibility of his parents on himself. We were never really personal with each other but from what I knew of him, he was a very religious person. He had left TMKOC during Covid but we always had good relations even after that,” Asit Modi told Times Now.
The producer hoped that Gurucharan is fine and added, “Gurucharan always used to meet me with a smile. His disappearance is very shocking, I don’t know why this happened. The investigation is on though so I am sure something good will turn up. I pray to god that he is safe and picks up his calls.”
On Tuesday, Singh’s on-screen son, Gogi aka Samay Shah, also recalled his last conversation with Gurucharan when he told Indian Express, “I spoke with him 4 to 5 months back over the phone. The conversation went on for an hour or more and he kept motivating me, we spoke about running with dreams. I was missing him a lot, especially as we were not working together anymore and we were reminiscing.”
Gurucharan Singh has been missing for over a week now. On April 22, his father filed a missing complaint which read, “My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.”
Later, News18 Showsha exclusively reported that Gurucharan’s missing complaint had been filed in the Palam area of New Delhi. We learnt that Police officials are investigating the case and trying to trace the actor’s call records.
Gurcharan Singh played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi — a fun-loving man who is always in party mode and never shies away from expressing love for his wife. He was one of the popular characters on the show, and also a founding cast member. Gurcharan, however, left the show in 2013 only to return next year due to public demand. After his exit in 2020, he was replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri.
