The first song from Akshay Kumar's much-anticipated film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is out and it communicates the one-sided love of Akshay's character. Titled Has mat Pagli, the song features Keshav falling in love with Jaya and thereby following Bollywood's all time favourite formula, stalking.
Being promoted as the revolutionary, educating film of the year, the film sticks to the age-old idea of presenting creepy stalker as an innocent, adorable lover, much to our disappointment.
The song has been composed by Vickey Prasad and Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to the slow number. Lyrics have been penned by Siddharth and Garima.
Well, taking forward the stalker-level love of Bollywood, the song is a classic example of how not to be a creep and woo your love interest, but when has Bollywood ever listened to sane advice. Throughout the song, Akshay keeps asking Bhoomi to not laugh and while she is following the advice and not laughing, the actor is still seen diving into the depths of love whatsoever.
Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is a satirical take on a battle against the age-old tradition of open defecation in the country. From the panchayat to the sanitation department, and corruption in the government and superstitions of the villagers, the film address all issues through comedy.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film also stars Divyendu Sharma, Sudhir Pandey, Shubha Khote and Anupam Kher. Carrying a serious message in its core, it will be interesting to see how efficiently the film is able to educate? Toilet: Ek Prem Katha releases on August 11.
