Triptii Dimri, who gained recognition for her role in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor, has navigated her own set of challenges in Bollywood. Despite featuring in several high-budget films and becoming a fan favourite, Triptii’s path to success has not been straightforward. She has encountered obstacles, faced harsh criticism and experienced multiple rejections. Recently, the Bulbbul star candidly discussed her journey in the Indian film industry, sharing a poignant incident where a particularly hurtful comment fueled her determination to pursue her dreams.
Speaking to ETimes, the actress reflected on the experience when she got a “hurtful comment” from someone. “Someone taunted me and made very mean comments. That was the day when I thought that I couldn’t leave the city without making it. When you are new in the industry, there are a lot of things that you don’t know and are confused between right and wrong. Something that might be right for another person and have worked for them might not work for you. There was a lot of confusion and chaos. It’s still there, but I prefer the current chaos over that past one,” she added.
However, the actress refrained from revealing any person or the particular incident that she faced.
Triptii Dimri On Rejections
Elsewhere in the conversation, the 30-year-old reflected back on her journey, acknowledging the past eight years of her hard work in the industry. Some think it has happened overnight. And yes, it did happen with one film, but there’s eight years of hard work behind it. But I don’t complain as it was the fun part. Eight years on the field with another two years of auditioning and rejections,” she continued.
Having begun her career as an extra in Sridevi-starrer Mom, Triptii got her first lead role in Laila Majnu, followed by critically acclaimed roles in Bulbbul and Qala. Notably, it was her appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal that rose the actress to fame, drawing in many more projects in the pipeline. While Triptii’s Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video recently opened in theatres, she will be next seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
The actress also has Dharma Productions’ Dhadak 2 lined up.
