Varun Dhawan is busy shooting for his next release Baby John. Ever since the makers unveiled Varun’s first look from the film, claiming it to be the “biggest action entertainer of 2024,” fans have been turning and tossing in anticipation. Now, Varun Dhawan on Thursday welcomed special guests on the sets of Baby John. The actor “was surprised” by his Citadel: Honey Bunny directors—Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. aka Raj and DK. How do we know? Varun dropped a perfect selfie on his Instagram Stories with his “blockbuster directors.”
The picture showed Varun, as always, looking dapper in a white round-neck T-shirt and tinted sunglasses. The actor can be seen clicking the picture, while Raj and DK are posing next to him. Sharing the snippet, Varun wrote, “Was surprised on the set today by my blockbuster directors”.
FYI: Apart from Baby John, Citadel: Honey Bunny is yet another anticipated project of this year. It is the Indian instalment of Citadel, the espionage action series created by the Russo brothers, featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The Indian series, within the Citadel universe, features Varun Dhawan alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. While Samantha will play Honey, Varun will be seen essaying Bunny. Dubbed as a gritty spy action thriller, Citadel: Honey Bunny will woo the fans with the heartwarming allure of a love story, which is set against the vibrant tapestry of the 1990s. Apart from Varun and Samantha, Kay Kay Menon, Soham Majumdar, Simran, Kashvi Majmundar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher are also part of the Indian Citadel world.
Coming back to Baby John, the film marks Varun Dhawan’s first collaboration with Atlee, who is jointly backing the actioner with Murad Khetani. On the occasion of Varun’s 37th birthday last month, the makers unveiled the new poster, showing another intriguing look from the film. The poster shows a shirtless Varun carrying long hair while flashing intense expressions. Murad Khetani dropped the poster on Instagram and wrote, “Happy Birthday to the force behind Baby John Varun Dhawan Brace yourselves for an unforgettable cinematic experience. Baby John, coming soon!”

It must be noted that Keerthy Suresh will be marking her Bollywood debut with Baby John. Helmed by Kalees, the film, apart from Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh, also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jacky Shroff and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. Besides Atlee, Baby John is jointly backed by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee and Jyoti Deshpande. The film is also presented by Jio Studios in association with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios.
