Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD marks Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s first on-screen collaboration.

Kalki 2898 AD is currently the most awaited film of the year. It features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Following the release of the intriguing trailer recently, the cast, along with producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt, sat for an interview and shared details about the film. During the conversation, Haasan surprised everyone by revealing his personal connection with Prabhas’ family.

Kamal Haasan reminisced his time when he worked as a dance assistant for Prabhas’ late uncle, Krishnam Raju, and shared a humorous incident from those days. After confirming that the Baahubali star is a second generation artist from his family, Haasan said, “I was a dance assistant. He [Krishnam Raju] was not much of a dancer, he used to say, don’t give me this moment. He used to threaten me, take me aside during breakfast."

During the interview, Kamal Haasan, who will play the villain Supreme Yaskin in Kalki 2898 AD, revealed what he loved the most about working on the film. He mentioned that it wasn’t about the number of cameras or the crew size, but he appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the set. Haasan pointed out that calmness is often absent on many sets, which become a distraction. He highlighted that the noise should come from within a person or heard in theatres.

“Everybody is talking in discipline. I found that Mr. Nagi (Nag Ashwin) could speak in his volume and still be heard. Nagi mumbles, but he is still heard in the set because that’s how quiet the set is," Kamal Haasan added.

Meanwhile, the newly released trailer of Kalki 2898 AD begins with Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwathama talking to Deepika Padukone’s character. He says that Deepika is carrying god in her womb. Shortly after, the trailer features intense fight scenes between Prabhas and Big B. The trailer then cuts to Kamal Haasan, followed by multiple intriguing scenes that promise an engaging cinematic experience.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD also features Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben and Chemban Vinod Jose. The movie is scheduled to release on June 27 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
