Directed by Siva, Kanguva has been made on a lavish scale with a reported budget exceeding Rs 350 crore. The fantasy action film boasts a stellar cast with actors like Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramanium, Jagapathi Babu and Yogi Babu. Apart from these actors, Redin Kingsley, Anandaraj, Suresh Chandra Menon and Prem Kumar are on board. Speaking of Kanguva’s storyline, this film focuses on the rivalry between Kanguva and Udhiran, played by Suriya and Bobby Deol respectively. The protagonists will be seen playing double roles in the film. As depicted in the trailer and posters, Suriya’s well-built physique and versatile looks impressed many, adding to the hype around his character.
Meanwhile, producer KE Gnanavel Raja is assured of the film’s success. In a media interaction, he was asked whether Kanguva can enter the Rs 1000 crore club. Responding to the same, he said that the film would be a massive box office hit. “I expect Kanguva to record a box-office collection of Rs 2000 crore, so why are you limiting it to Rs 1000 crore?” he noted. Produced under UV Creations, Kanguva was earlier expected to be released on big screens on Dussehra on October 10. Given the same release date of the film as that of Rajnikanth’s Vettaiyan, the Suriya starrer was postponed to avoid a clash.
