Barun Sobti’s mesmerising portrayal in the Amazon Mini TV series Rakshak – India’s Braves is captivating audiences. This marks his first collaboration with TV actress Surbhi Chandna. The patriotic drama which was released on February 22, depicts the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. In a recent interview with a prominent media outlet, Barun and Surbhi shared some interesting insights. The actor also revealed the daunting challenge of shooting in extreme temperatures for the show.
During a candid chat with Pinkvilla, when asked about punctuality on set, Surbhi’s playful reaction drew laughter. However, Barun’s response was more introspective. He said, “It was such a difficult shoot with that respect. Physically demanding, and the actions you are doing at such an altitude. Our location was always two to two and a half hours away. We used to start at 4:30 and 5 in the morning with the drive, so there was no scope for getting late. Aur temperature -7 tha.”
Upon hearing this, Surbhi mentioned she wasn’t part of that schedule so she didn’t know. Then Barun remembered shooting a scene when it was -3 degrees. Surbhi gasped, realising how tough it must have been. “And it was so breezy. I was dying that day,” Barun added.
Rakshak – India’s Braves: Chapter 2 delves into a saga inspired by real-life events, highlighting the unwavering dedication of patriots who sacrificed everything to safeguard India. It stands as a testament to the courage, commitment, and indomitable spirit of every Rakshak toward their nation and its people.
This series marks Surbhi Chandna’s debut on OTT platforms, while Barun Sobti adds another noteworthy project to his repertoire. In the series, Barun essays the character of Junior Commissioned Officer Naib Subedar Sombir Singh, while Surbhi plays the role of his wife.
On the work front, Barun is set to grace the OTT screen with his presence in the upcoming TV series Raat Jawan Hai alongside Anjali Anand. The show promises to be a modern and quirky exploration of contemporary societal issues. Additionally, fans can anticipate another exciting project as Barun will also appear in the TV series Donali, which features actors Divyendu Sharma and Chunky Pandey in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Surbhi Chandna is immersed in wedding preparations, set to exchange vows with her longtime beau Karan R Sharma on March 2.
