IU Teases New Music Video With BTS Star V: 'Something You Have Never Seen'

South Korean singer-songwriter Lee Ji-eun, better known as IU, has confirmed that she will be collaborating with BTS boyband member Kim Taehyung aka V for a music video. Earlier, reports claimed that before V enlisted himself in the military on December 11, the singer promised to feature in IU’s music video. Back then, V’s management company BigHit Music revealed that the two singers who share a close friendship “had to hastily produce the music video" keeping in mind V’s military joining date. Now, in her latest YouTube vlog IU has teased the upcoming album with V, scheduled to release in 2024.

The vlog dropped on YouTube by IU begins with the singer getting ready for her first commercial shoot. In between, she also answered some questions. When the interviewer asked IU to share something about her upcoming music video with V, she revealed that it was something the masses had “never seen" in her videos. “When I was shooting the MV, it was so good, the tone and mood. Even without any CG, it was great. Something that you’ve never seen in lU’s MVs," she said. When the interviewer quizzed her about the time when IU attempted an escape during the music video shoot with V, the Blueming singer gave a humorous reply.

“To be honest, I tried (to run away). But I got a flat tire. What’s funnier is that V first got a flat tire, so I was like ‘Let’s run away’ but my car too got a flat tire. I think they planted something like glass on the site so we couldn’t get away," confessed IU.

In the conversation, IU revealed that her New Year plans involved being busy with a drama shoot across Seoul, Nonsan, Incheon, and Ansan. She also admitted to going overseas for her work commitments. “I like Korea, but I’m leaving to do something really fun," she hinted without revealing the cause of her departure.

Coming back to IU and V, the duo’s friendship dates a long time back. When the BTS member made an appearance on IU’s talk show Palette on September 12, their friendship surprised the masses. However, IU later cleared the air disclosing that it was not the first time that they had met. In fact, she admitted to having “informal" conversations with V often.
