Bollywood legend Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar recently visited their ailing friend, Junior Mehmood, who has been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer. His close friend Salam Kazi has revealed the veteran actor’s heartfelt desire to reunite with his old friends amid his health battle. Upon receiving the message, both Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar wasted no time and visited their friend on a Tuesday morning.
Sachin Pilgaonkar even offered assistance, but Mehmood’s children humbly declined. According to ETimes, Salam Kazi revealed, “Mehmood Bhai’s children refused help and asked him to pray for their father’s recovery.” Actor Ali Asgar also paid a visit to Junior Mehmood, acknowledging the profound impact he has had on the comedy genre and serving as an inspiration to many contemporary comedians.
Jeetendra shared details about his meeting with Junior Mehmood in an interview with HT, stating, “I am here by his bedside, but he is unable to recognise me. He is in so much pain; he is unable to open his eyes. To see him in this state breaks my heart. I have been coming to Mount Mary Church for 25 years. When I learned of Junior’s health condition, I planned to visit him on my way to the church next Sunday. But Johnny reached out to me on Monday night, urging a quick visit.”
Apart from Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar, reports surfaced about Johnny Lever stepping in to support Junior Mehmood. In a heartening video, Johnny Lever offered words of encouragement while Junior Mehmood, visibly weakened, lay on the bed.
Master Raju, a regular visitor to Mehmood, reminisced about the actor’s colossal impact on the industry. He shared insights into Junior Mehmood’s legacy. Reflecting on their collaboration in films like ‘Parichay’ and ‘Deewangee,’ Raju highlighted Mehmood’s stardom, noting how producers would wait for his dates due to his busy schedule.
