While Malaika is loved for her unique fashion choices, she often faces massive trolling for the same. However, she chooses to remain unfazed. Earlier in an interview with ETimes, she shared, “I think people have perceptions because of the trolls that you see. I mean, that’s how perceptions are built. And I think I want to bust those perceptions and those myths because eventually, people believe what is put out there.”
The actress continued, “People criticize everything, right from my choices, my fashion choices, or my lifestyle choices, how I go about it, my age, etc., all of it. It’s heavily, heavily trolled. So yes, those are exactly the things that I want to address and how I address them. Not that you have to watch the show. I don’t think it’s a preachy show. I’m not doing a chat show over here. It’s a very different take on things. So yeah, we don’t want to be preachy.”
Malaika is presently judging the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11 alongside Farah Khan and Arshad Warsi. The dance reality show airs on Sony TV and is hosted by Rithvik Dhanjani and Gauahar Khan. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa stars Urvashi Dholakia, Shiv Thakare, Aamir Ali, Sangeeta Phogat, Shoaib Ibrahim, Tanishaa Mukerji, Anjali Anand, Rajiv Thakur, Adrija Sinha, Karuna Pandey, and Sreerama Chandra as participants.
In the most recent episode of the popular dance reality program Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 11, Malaika Arora burst into tears as she remembered her impoverished childhood home and family. Reacting to one of the performances on the show, she said, “We used to live in a rented house. We didn’t have our own house. I mean, as far back as I can remember, we lived in a rented house. We often joke and say that we lived in a matchbox during our childhood.” She further recalled. “I remember how small the house was. If we walked around, it seemed like someone might get hurt. It was very, very difficult. So obviously, the first thing I wanted to do when I could afford it, after saving up a bit of money, was to buy a house. And I wanted to tell my mom about it.”
Recently, Malaika Arora delighted her fans with a nostalgic trip down memory lane by posting pictures with her MTV friends, which featured her sister Amrita Arora, Mini Mathur, Cyrus Sahukar, Anusha Dandekar, Cyrus Boracha, Shenaz Treasury, Preeta Sukhtankar, Maria Goretti, and more. Their gathering was dubbed the “ultimate reunion,” although Gaurav Kapoor, who initially began his career as a VJ for Channel V, jokingly played the role of an “intruder” in the memorable get-together.
