Bigg Boss 17 Hindi made its debut recently, and fans were treated to an unexpected twist with the inclusion of Jigna Vora as one of the contestants. Jigna Vora, a former crime journalist, had faced legal troubles in connection with the murder of another senior journalist, leading to a brief stint in jail. She chronicled her time behind bars in the book Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, which was subsequently transformed into a Netflix series titled Scoop by Hansal Mehta. This show received highly positive reviews after its release earlier this year.
Inside the Bigg Boss house, Jigna recently shared that she spent a total of nine months in jail; interestingly, she mentioned that she never had any conflicts with any inmates during that time. She stated that despite living in a barrack with 40 women and children, she maintained friendly relationships with all of them. Because of her ability to get along well with her fellow inmates, she believes she is a suitable candidate to become the captain of the Bigg Boss house.
Jigna Vora revealed that it was her son who encouraged her to participate in Bigg Boss, as he wanted her story to reach a broader audience. She explained, “Today’s younger generation is eager to share their stories with the world. My son, who is now 23 years old, felt strongly that my story should be known on a larger scale. He played a pivotal role in my decision to be here, telling me that while a hundred people may have read my book and a thousand may have watched Scoop, this show will allow me to reach millions, and everyone should be aware of my journey.”
Jigna Vora is indeed a prominent figure in the field of journalism, but her career has been marked by various controversies. Notably, she was linked to Chhota Rajan, an underworld gangster. Her involvement in a high-profile case emerged in connection to the murder of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey, which occurred on June 11, 2011. Several individuals were accused in connection to this case, including Jigna Vora. The common thread among those implicated in Jyotirmay Dey’s murder was their alleged association with Chhota Rajan. Jigna Vora was charged in this case and spent nine months in jail, as a result. The legal proceedings regarding this case extended over an extended period of time.
