The heat is building in the Indian domestic arena as Mumbai will be taking on Tamil Nadu in the second semi-final of the 2023-24 season of Ranji Trophy. The match will be played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai. The 41-time champions made it to the last four after beating Baroda in the quarter-finals based on first innings lead. No.10 and No.11 of Mumbai, Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande, scored centuries in the second innings in a historic partnership, after U19 World Cup star Musheer Khan scored his maiden first-class hundred and then converted it into a double century.
Tamil Nadu, meanwhile, registered a dominant win over defending champions Saurashtra, beating them by an innings and 33 runs in the quarter-finals in Coimbatore. TN skipper Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore picked up nine wickets and also scored a half-century to help his team surge into the final.
