South Korean Stars Hyeri And Ryu Jun-yeol End Six-Year Relationship: Report
Reply 1998 stars Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol have mutually decided to end their relationship after six years of dating.

Popular Korean actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri have officially called it quits on their six-year relationship, leaving fans surprised and concerned. The beloved pair, known for their roles in the hit K-drama Reply 1988, publicly confirmed their romantic involvement in 2017. However, a report by News1 revealed that Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol have mutually decided to end their romantic relationship and move forward with new chapters in their lives.

The South Korean media source also mentioned that they have chosen to remain friends after careful consideration. This news was quickly verified by both Ryu Jun-yeol’s agency, C-JeS Studios, and Hyeri’s agency, Creative Group ING, who confirmed the breakup, stating, “Yes, they have indeed broken up,” reports Soompi.

The two reportedly met while working together in the tvN drama Reply 1988, which ended in January 2016. Reply 1988 is a comedy family drama about five families living in an alley in Ssangmun-dong, Ssangpal-dong, and enjoyed nationwide love and buzz, breaking its own highest viewership rating of 18.8% at the time, as reported by Naver TV Entertainment.

In Reply 1988, Hyeri played the role of Seong Deok-seon, and Ryu Jun-yeol’s character was named Kim Jeong-hwan. Although the couple did not end up together in the drama, they had become a couple in real life. As per Naver TV ENtertainment, the two, developed a romantic relationship while working together and acknowledged that they were dating in August 2017. They further received a lot of support and love as an official couple from their fans and their colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Given the duration of their relationship, the news of their breakup has left everyone extremely surprised.

Notably, just last year, on Ryu Jun-yeol’s 36th birthday, Hyeri surprised him on the set of his show Money Game with a coffee truck. The truck was adorned with a heartfelt message: “To my beloved Ryu Jun-yeol, Happy birthday. From your best fan.”

On their respective work fronts, Meanwhile, Ryu Jun-yeol is scheduled to release the movie Alien + Humans Part 2 in January next year, and Hyeri is bust working on Victory, her next film.
