The Bar Council of India (BCI) has raised the qualifying pass percentage for general category candidates from 40 per cent to 45 per cent this year

The Bar Council of India (BCI) will conclude the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVIII (18) application form window today. Eligible candidates who wish to participate in the AIBE 18 will have the final chance to register themselves through the official website, allindiabarexamination.com.

This year, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has raised the qualifying pass percentage for general category candidates from 40 per cent to 45 per cent. Likewise, for SC and ST candidates, the minimum pass percentage has been increased from 35 per cent to 40 per cent.

As per the official schedule, the AIBE 18 exam is scheduled to be conducted on October 29. The AIBE 18 form corrections will be open until October 10, after the last registration date, and admit cards will be available on October 20. Apart from this, the council has also added a new examination centre at Aizawl in Mizoram from the All India Bar Examination (XVIII) onwards. “We are pleased to inform you that Aizawl will now be on the list of existing examination centers,” it said.

AIBE 18 Registration: How to Apply

Step 1: Navigate to allindiabarexamination.com, the official website of the All India Bar Examination.

Step 2: Locate and click on the link that mentions ‘AIBE Registration,’ which is available on the homepage.

Step 3: A new login window will be displayed where candidates will have to generate login credentials.

Step 4: Now, log in using the credentials and fill out the AIBE 18 application form.

Step 5: Attach the necessary documents, like a passport-size photograph, the candidate’s signature, and other related certificates.

Step 6: After all the documents are successfully uploaded, candidates will then have to pay the application fee through online modes such as debit card, credit card, or UPI.

Step 7: Finally, check all the details added to the application form before submitting. If necessary, save and print out the AIBE 18 confirmation page for your requirements.

AIBE 18: Marking Scheme

Candidates will have to answer 100 multiple-choice questions on OMR sheets within a 3-hour and 30-minute timeframe. If a candidate has a disability of 40 per cent or more, they may be granted an additional 20 minutes per hour. To access this extra time, applicants in this category must present their certificate to the invigilator.

AIBE 18: Application Fees

For ST and SC candidates, the application fee is Rs. 2,560, while OBC and general category applicants are required to pay Rs. 3,560.
