The Titans made a memorable IPL debut in 2022, winning their maiden title under the leadership of Pandya. The last two seasons saw several youngsters coming to the fore while out-of-favour veterans also rose up and shone brightly. They made it to a second consecutive season finale earlier this year but they failed to defend the title. Pandya & Co were defeated by MS Dhoni’s by 5 wickets in a rain-curtailed affair which concluded on the reserve day.

Pandya’s move back to Mumbai shocked the cricketing spheres, as youngster and ace Indian opener Shubman Gill will now be given the chance to take over the reigns and lead the Titans side to yet another successful campaign.

Apart from that, Gujarat didn’t make big changes in their list as they retained their core unit and released those who didn’t get many chances or performed below expectations last season. They have released three overseas players and five Indian players.

How They Spent Their Money: GT bought one batter, one bowler, one keeper and five bowlers.

Players Retained: David Miller, Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Wriddhiman Saha, Kane Williamson, Abhinav Manohar, B Sai Sudharsan, Darshan Nalkande, Vijay Shankar, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Shami, Noor Ahmad, R Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, Josh Little, Mohit Sharma

Players Released: Hardik Pandya (traded), Yash Dayal, KS Bharat, Shivam Mavi, Urvil Patel, Pradeep Sangwan, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, Dasun Shanaka
