The registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main) 2024 is underway. Engineering aspirants who wish to pursue B.Tech courses in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and other participating institutes should apply for the JEE Main 2024 exam on the official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in. The last date for JEE Main 2024 registration is set for November 30. It’s important to note that NTA will not provide a correction facility, so candidates must be diligent in ensuring that all the details they enter in the application form are accurate.

This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced some noteworthy changes for the 2024-25 session. One of the noticeable changes this year is the early commencement of the JEE Main 2024 registration process and multiple login options for candidates to register themselves.

Major changes in the JEE Main Registration process

NTA has made the registration process more accessible by providing candidates with multiple login options. This ensures that applicants can register for the JEE Main 2024 exam using the method that suits them best. Whether they choose to register via DigiLocker, NAD portal, Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID), Indian or non-Indian passport numbers, PAN card numbers, or Aadhaar enrollment numbers, the process has been designed to be user-friendly.

Candidates are required to create an account on Digi locker through the NAD portal or Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) to log in. They will also be able to register through their Indian Indian passport number, non-Indian passport number, PAN card number, Aadhaar enrollment number.

However, those who do not wish to apply through DigiLocker or ABC ID will have to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the commencement of the exam for checking.

Session options

JEE Main 2024 will be conducted in two sessions – one in January and another in April. Session 1 is scheduled from January 24 to February 1, while session 2 will take place from April 1 to April 15. Candidates have the flexibility to choose between these sessions. Here’s how it works:

–– If a candidate wishes to apply for the January session, they must complete the registration and payment by November 30.

–– Those who want to apply for both sessions (January and April), will need to pay the fees for two papers and submit the application accordingly.

–– For those opting to appear only in the April session, the application window runs from February 2 to March 2.

JEE Main 2024: How to register

To make sure your application process goes smoothly, here’s a step-by-step guide:

Step 1. Visit the official JEE Main 2024 website at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Step 2. Click on the ‘JEE Main Registration’ link on the homepage.

Step 3. Login using the system-generated password or your Digilocker or ABC login ID.

Step 4. Submit the answer to a security question and complete the registration.

Step 5. Log in again and provide your personal details, select the paper you are applying for, and choose your preferred exam cities.

Step 6. Enter your educational qualifications and proceed to upload the necessary documents.

Step 7. After completing the document upload, submit the application fee as required.

Step 8. Review the form to ensure all details are correct.

Step 9. Finally, download and take a printout of the JEE Main application confirmation page for your future reference.

JEE Main 2024: Document requirements

Make sure to prepare the following documents for uploading during the application process:

–– Photograph: In JPG/JPEG format (file size ranging from 10 kb to 200 kb.)

–– Signature: Also in JPG/JPEG format (file size between 4 kb and 30 kb.)
