Chithra said, “Greetings to all. When the pran pratishtha ceremony is held in Ayodhya on January 22 at 12:20 pm, everyone should chant the mantra ‘Shri Rama, Jaya Rama, Jaya Jaya Rama’. Likewise, in the evening, five-wick lamps should be lit in all the parts of house. Praying that God’s blessings is showered upon everyone. Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu.”
The singer, since then, has been targeted by cyber trolls. While several people criticised her for supporting the ceremony, many others came in support of her.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kerala unit president K Surendran, came out in support of Chithra. He took to the microblogging site X and slammed the Congress government’s silence on the cyber attacks.
He wrote, “Appalled by cyber attacks on the esteemed singer @KSChithra ji who appealed to light a lamp on Ayodhya Prana Prathista day, by left-jihadist groups. Under the rule of @pinarayivijayan in Kerala, things are such that a Hindu can’t freely share her beliefs with fellow followers. It is shameful that @INCIndia remains silent on this act. We @BJP4Keralam stand in unwavering support of KS Chithra.”
