'Sleep With A Smile': Mumbai Indians' Cheeky Post After India Seal World Cup Final Berth

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians shared a cheeky post on social media to celebrate India’s historic win at Wankhede. Cricket fans continue to rejoice as India book a place into their fourth World Cup final. They will next be playing the winner of the second semi-final between Australia and South Africa scheduled at the Eden Gardens.

Amid all the celebrations, the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise shared a collage of Rohit Sharma, urging Indian fans to sleep with a smile on their faces. In one of the pictures, the India skipper can be seen celebrating while in the other, he seems to be rubbing his face with his eyes closed. Mumbai Indians shared the post on X and wrote, “India, go to sleep with a smile on your face”.

Several fans have reacted to the cheeky post in the comment section. One of them suggested that the entire Indian team should be smiling given their performance in the tournament, “They should all be smiling”.

“What I like about our captain is that he does his work quietly. For all the hard work he has done, only the trophy matters,” wrote one more.

India have put up a phenomenal show at home, remaining undefeated in the competition so far. They began their campaign with a six-wicket victory over Australia in their tournament opener before beating the Netherlands in their final group game.

They faced New Zealand in the semi-final for a second successive time at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the match, Rohit Sharma’s side won the toss and decided to bat first. Centuries from both Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer helped the side establish a mammoth total of 397/4. In the second innings, Mohammed Shami went on a rampage to dismiss seven Kiwi batters to seal a comfortable 70-run victory for India.

The Men in Blue will now be travelling to Ahmedabad to play their final game of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
