Tarun Tahiliani Closes Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI With 83 Celebratory Pret Designs

Tarun Tahiliani, the design maestro closed day one of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI with 83 artistically crafted and styled luxe pret wear. With signature silhouettes embracing a palette of new hues, Tarun’s collection ‘A Celebration of Self-Expression’ celebrated the spirit of festivity.

Merging new age styling with classics, Tarun Tahiliani show which was in collaboration with Kohler India beautifully merged two distinct worlds. This collaboration was unique in every way. Where normally collaborative shows with brands ensure the product is visible on the runway, here Tarun and Kohler broke the mould and gave the audience what it needed, a show about fashion and inspiration.

Elevating the unique qualities of each, Tarun took inspiration from Kohler’s artist editions, which featured Madhubani art created by Pushpa Kumari. The collection’s exquisite motifs were inspired by Madhubani style flora and bold, abstract geometric prints of art deco styles which resulted in visually striking pieces that bridged the gap between tradition and modernity.

Luxurious fabrics crafted in an array of styles, the indo-western fusion was the perfect canvas for the modern Indian woman. Draped sarees, gillets, co-ord sets, lehengas, jumpsuits, corset blouses, gowns, dazzling dupattas and shararas were styled to add festive cheer on the runway. Each look was designed to be a masterpiece. Crafted for the woman of today, who loves to mix and match, this collection is what festive dreams are made of.

Each ensemble celebrated Tarun’s design aesthetics and essayed a new narrative for Indian festive dressing. Glamorously chic and versatile, the silhouettes were enhanced with crystals, sequins, and feather detailing. With 65 models bringing Tarun’s vision to life on the runway, the collection was a glamourous tribute to the feminine form.
