AAP Threatens to Sue Its MLA For Accusing Party Leaders of Seeking Sexual Favours

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday threatened to sue their own MLA retired Colonel Devinder Sehrawat for making allegations of seeking sexual favours from women ticket aspirants.

On Sunday, Sehrawat had charged some AAP leaders of asking sexual favours for party tickets in the upcoming Punjab assembly elections in 2017.

He had named Sanjay Singh, a top party leader and a close confidante of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, its political affairs committee member Durgesh Pathak and a few others in his statement.

The party has now decided to file a defamation case against Sehrawat saying that he has made these allegations without any evidence.

Sanjay Singh had rubbished the charges against him and said, "The allegations are so absurd and baseless that we do not even want to respond to them. He has to get proof before talking like that" and went on to term him as a disgruntled MLA.

However Bijwasan MLA Colonel Sehrawat claimed that he has received "disturbing reports" of women being "exploited" in Punjab with promises of election tickets from the AAP.

He said that the information he had was "generic" and that had also written a letter to anti corruption activist Anna Hazare seeking his intervention.

The issues comes just a day after sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman in return for a ration card.
