New Delhi: After his much talked about roadshow in Mumbai, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal will campaign in Nagpur on Friday for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal is scheduled to lead a roadshow in all six assembly constituencies in Nagpur Lok Sabha area. He is also expected to address a public meeting at the sprawling Kasturchand Park grounds in Nagpur city.
Permission for the public meeting has been granted, after it was cancelled earlier, AAP's Girish Nandgaonkar said.
On Thursday, the AAP had hosted a fund raising dinner with Kejriwal in Nagpur. The party organised this dinner for those donating more than Rs 10,000 each, as part of a fund raising programme. Kejriwal dined with party donors in a posh hotel in Sadar.
Kejriwal who postponed his arrival in Nagpur due to ill health, arrived by a service flight on Thursday evening and also drove to Wadada village on Bhandara road to talk to villagers who have been affected due to untimely rains and hailstorms. Earlier, AAP had cancelled his Chandrapur tour scheduled for Thursday morning, because of his poor health.
He also went to Bhandara where he addressed a public meeting in support of AAP candidate Prashant Mishra, a US-returned infotech professional who is pitted against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) heavyweight and Union Minister for Heavy Industries Praful Patel.
Kejriwal's Mumbai visit had created a lot of chaos, confusion and pandemonium outside the Churchgate station as he took a local train to woo the aam aadmi.
Kejriwal's roadshow turned out be a nightmare for Mumbai residents as AAP workers broke metal detectors in the station.
