Arunachal Governor Took Decision on Written Opinion From State A-G: Sources
Attorney General had told the Governor that he could advance the assembly session in light of poor law and order in Arunachal Pradesh.

Punching holes in the BJP's claims that it wasn't them but the governor of the state behind the imposition of presidents rule that has now been revoked by the SC, CNN-News 18 has learnt that Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi had given a written opinion to Arunachal Governor JP Rajkhowa.

Attorney General had told the Governor that he could advance the assembly session in light of poor law and order in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to top government sources, the Governor took the decision after getting a written legal opinion from state advocate general.

BJP had taken the position that it was the Governor who took the decision on his own on the basis of merits of the case.

Meanwhile, Congress has alleged A-G was under pressure from top government quarters to give opinion to LG.

In a major setback to BJP and the Centre, the Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered restoration of the Congress government, saying the "clock should be turned back", as it quashed all decisions of Governor Rajkhowa that precipitated its fall in January, holding them "violative" of the Constitution.
