New Delhi: BJP leader Sangeet Som, along with two others, purchased land for a meat processing unit in Aligarh in 2005, reveal registry documents accessed by CNN-IBN.
Documents show that Al Dua Food Processing Pvt Ltd, of which Som was a director, purchased land for a meat processing unit in Aligarh in 2005. Som has however denied being involved in the meat trade. He has called it a conspiracy to tarnish his image.
Som, an accused in the Muzaffarnagar riot case, said he had purchased the land a few years ago but claimed that he was unaware of being appointed as a director of the company.
"I bought that piece of land and I sold it, I even have documents.", he said. "Having meat is against Hinduism, I don't even eat eggs then egg factory is far away", he added.
