New Delhi: A day after BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi hit out at the Election Commission for failing to curb alleged rigging during polls in some states, the party on Monday decided to will file a complaint with the poll watchdog. Senior leader Arun Jaitley will lead a BJP delegation to complain against alleged vote rigging during polling in West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
On Sunday, Modi while campaigning in Asanol, had accused the Election Commission of failing to prevent vote rigging and elections related violence. Modi alleged that the commission was not acting impartially and dared it to take action against him.
"Why are you not acting? What is your intention? If you feel wrong about what I am saying now, then you are free to lodge another case against me," Modi said.
He said poll violence and booth rigging took place in West Bengal, Bihar and western Uttar Pradesh. "I am putting serious allegations against you (EC). You have failed to stop rigging and violence in these areas.
