Arun Jaitley hit back at Congress saying the party will be embarrassed once the names of people holding illicit foreign accounts are made public.
New Delhi: On the backfoot after saying that the Centre will not reveal the names of account holders in the black money case, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hit back at the Congress saying doing so would embarrass the party itself.
Jaitley, however, added that the names will be disclosed in the court. "India's double taxation avoidance agreement with Germany only restrains disclosure of names in the media and not in court," Jaitley said.
Jaitley said that the media completely "misreported" the case when the Centre refused to divulge the names.
"Media said that we (BJP) are not going to disclose it. Our case was that we will disclose it as per the due process of law," Jaitley said.
