'Chor Chor...': BJP's Big Claim About Kejriwal's Involvement in Hemant Soren's Controversial Escape
Soren has resurfaced in Ranchi after being “untraceable” for nearly two days and held a meeting with all the MLAs and ministers of his party

Amid speculations that the Jharkhand Chief Minister fled to evade the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation into a money laundering case, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a big claim about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s involvement in Soren’s escape.

Senior BJP leader Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday alleged that the AAP supremo assisted in escorting Hemant Soren from Delhi to Ranchi and the cooperation extended till Varanasi, after which Ranchi Minister Mithlesh Thakur helped take him to Ranchi.

Commenting on this alleged collaboration, Dubey, in a social media post said, “Chor chor mausera bhai.”

Jharkhand Chief Minister’s whereabouts had been in question ever since an ED team visited his Delhi residence in connection with a money laundering investigation.

The ED has seized Rs 36 lakh, an SUV and some “incriminating” documents from there, they said.

Soren has resurfaced in Ranchi after being “untraceable” for nearly two days and held a meeting with all the MLAs and ministers of his party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. The CM’s wife, Kalpana Soren, was also present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, amid claims of Soren’s evasion from the Enforcement Directorate, Section 144 of CrPC has also been imposed within a 100-metre radius of the CM’s residence, Raj Bhavan and ED’s Ranchi office.

As far as the ED investigation is concerned, in an email sent to the agency, Soren has agreed to record his statement in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land deal in Jharkhand on January 31 at 1 pm at his residence.

The probe pertains to a “huge racket of illegal change of ownership of land by the mafia” in Jharkhand, according to the agency.

The ED has, so far, arrested 14 people in the case, including 2011-batch IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan who served as the director of the state’s Social Welfare Department and deputy commissioner of Ranchi.
