Congress Alleges Several Vehicles Outside Its Amethi Office Vandalised, Blames BJP
A heavy police force along with CO City Mayank Dwivedi soon reached the party office and tried to pacify the protesting party workers

A group of unidentified miscreants attacked the Congress party office in Amethi’s Gauriganj area around midnight on Sunday. Several vehicles parked outside the office were also vandalized.

The miscreants fled after creating a ruckus, thereby triggering a protest by Congress workers.

Congress District President Pradeep Singal rushed to the party office soon after the incident and a heavy police force along with CO City Mayank Dwivedi also reached there and tried to pacify the protesting party workers.

CO City Dwivedi has assured that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.

Police force has been deployed at the site of the incident.

Taking note of the incident, the Congress took to X and blamed Smriti Irani and the BJP for the incident.

The Congress party said, “Smriti Irani and BJP workers are badly scared in Amethi, UP. Frustrated by the defeat they saw, BJP goons armed with sticks and rods reached outside the Congress office in Amethi and vandalised vehicles parked there. There has been a deadly attack on Congress workers and people of Amethi. Many people are badly injured in this attack.”

While sharing a video of the incident, the Grand Old Party further said, “During the incident, vehicles of local people were also damaged. The police administration remained a mute spectator during the entire incident.This incident is a witness that BJP is going to lose badly in Amethi.”

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also shared the incident on her official X account and alleged that the police was a silent spectator as the ‘BJP workers continued their hooliganism’.

BJP Reacts To Allegations By Congress

In a conversation with IANS, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi alleged that the Congress used dirty tricks for the Amethi Lok Sabha seat in the election. He further said this incident was an attempt by the Congress to seek sympathy votes. “We appeal to the Election Commission to take strict action, investigate this thoroughly and make the names of those who vandalised cars public,” he added.
