Bhopal: Two days after BJP state chief Rakesh Singh congratulated CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for “fourth straight win” in assembly polls, a billboard thanking public for voting the Congress to power has been installed outside the Pradesh Congress Committee office. The billboard has been installed a day before the results of the assembly polls.
The poster welcomed the formation of Congress government under the leadership of MPCC president Kamal Nath, who seems confident of winning 140 seats in the state. Nath reiterated his confidence in the public for deciding the party with majority.
However, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed the poster as ‘laughable stuff’, saying it was a Congress strategy to keep its flock together to brave the ‘imminent loss'. The results would be out on December 11 and everyone would see, he added.
BJP state chief Rakesh Singh also said that the posters were the Congress’s gimmicks to keep the party cadre interested as they fear that their workers could leave the counting centres midway through.
Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh retaliated slammed the BJP for its statement. “We are not the ones who run away. We did not do it in 2003, 2008 and 2013. Perhaps the BJP workers would start leaving tomorrow,” he said.
