Chennai: AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa kicked off her Lok Sabha election campaign from Kanchipuram on Monday.
Addressing a public meeting she asked the voters to get rid of the Congress rule. Launching a no-holds-barred attack on the Congress, she said, "Get rid of the Congress rule at the Centre, just like you removed the DMK government from Tamil Nadu in 2011. The Congress-led UPA, which has looted the country must be removed. The AIADMK needs to be in power at the Centre for Tamil Nadu to be heard and for our demands to be fulfilled."
Jayalalithaa has already hinted that she is in the race for the post of Prime Minister if the election throws up a hung Parliament.
She has snubbed BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi by joining hands with the CPI and the CPM in the Lok Sabha polls. She has also joined the 11-party Third Front.
