Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday met President Pranab Mukherjee while three Union ministers called on her during her visit to the national capital.
Minister for Communications ~~amp;amp; Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Pon Radhakrishnan met Jayalalithaa in New Delhi and held discussions.
"It was a courtesy call... Certain other issues of development concerning my department were also discussed. I, in particular, referred to the scope for development of electronics manufacturing in Tamil Nadu, which she also agreed," Prasad told reporters after the meeting.
Radhakrishnan said he discussed about BHEL and Hindustan Photo Films Company Limited, a PSU functioning under the Department of Heavy Industry, situated in the state. Asked whether AIADMK should extend support to the NDA government in the Rajya Sabha, Radhakrishnan replied that all political parties must come forward to support the present government.
