'Jackpot', aired on Jaya TV, is the one of the longest running game shows in India.

New Delhi: The battle between Karunanidhi and rival Jayalalithaa has cost Tamil actress Khushboo, the new entrant to the DMK, her job.

The actress has been dropped as the host of the popular game show 'Jackpot' that is aired on Jaya TV, a channel backed by DMK's rival AIADMK. The popular game show which Khushboo has been hosting for the past 9 years has been taken off air for two weeks till they find her replacement.

"I am not surprised that my show has been taken off air after I decided to join DMK," Khushboo told CNN-IBN.

She however said that she has not received any official communication from Jaya TV.

The actress met DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Friday and was formally inducted into the party as a primary member. Shortly after that meeting Khushboo said she will continue with the game show on Jaya TV.

"I don't have any qualms about continuing to do 'Jackpot'. It is very close to me, very special programme for me because that marked my entry into politics," the actress told CNN-IBN.

However the channel clearly had other plans. They have pulled the show off and are on the lookout for a new host. Jackpot is one of the longest running game shows in India.
