A day after a heated debate took place on the intolerance row in Parliament, more uproar is likely in both Houses on Tuesday as the Opposition is expected to stick to the debate on the raging issue.

During the discussions on Monday, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Mohd Salim recalled a newspaper article which stated that Home Minister Rajnath Singh allegedly said that India has got a 'Hindu ruler' after 800 years, following Narendra Modi's victory.

Visibly hurt by Salim's comments, Rajnath lashed out at him and refuted making any such remarks. "He has put a serious allegation on me. I would want to ask him where I have made such remarks on Hindu leader comments or else apologise," he said.

Singh claimed that he was "deeply hurt" by the allegations that Mohd Salim had levelled against him. "A Home Minister making such a statement has no right to continue being on the post," Singh said.

Clarifying his remarks, Mohd Salim claimed that he quoted the statement from a magazine. "If Rajnath Singh is denying then let him send a legal notice to the publication," he said.
