Patna: Continuing his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday upped the ante against Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking why he didn't raise the reservation issue while addressing a rally in the state.
He questioned Modi's stand on reservation policy and accused BJP of being against reservations. He said Prime Minister's silence on reservation policy shows his government is reconsidering quota system.
The Chief Minister also countered Modi's comparison of Bihar and Jharkhand on the number of deaths due to 'Kala Azaar'. He said the Prime Minister should have consulted his colleague CP Thakur before speaking on the matter.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had pitched for a review of the reservation policy. Political parties who call themselves as saviours of the victimised class have vehemently opposed Bhagwat's comments.
Hitting out at his opponents, Modi on Friday said that Bihar had tackled everything from feudalism to dynasty politics, but "now is the time to see growth". Addressing a huge rally in Banka, Modi said, "he returned the special package given to Bihar...his ego is bigger than people's needs".
