Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi began his Hunkar rally in Patna on Sunday amidst cheers and sloganeering.
Modi started his speech by addressing the crowd in Bhojpuri. He also spoke in Maithili, the dialect spoken in North eastern Bihar.
Modi thanked Bihar BJP leaders for their efforts in making Hunkar Rally a success.
Hunkar Rally in Patna is a matter of honour for the friends turned foes BJP-JDU alliance as the latter snapped its 17 year old alliance with the former in June 2013 over Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
For the BJP, Hunkar rally is not just any other rally of their PM nominee. They are aiming at giving a befitting reply to Nitish Kumar who had during the days of his alliance with the BJP ensured that Modi is kept out of the state.
