Patna: RJD Lok Sabha member Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav on Monday surrendered before Special Vigilance court in connection with the multi-crore flood relief scam and has been sent to judicial custody till December 6.
The Supreme Court had on December 1 rejected his anticipatory bail plea on and had asked him to surrender to the regular court to obtain bail.
Justice S B Sinha and Justice M Katzu, after hearing the defense plea, rejected Yadav's appeal saying the case had all the telltale signs of fraud and deception and thus an anticipatory bail was out of question.
Yadav is accused of accepting Rs six lakh from the key accused in the multi-crore rupees flood-relief scam Santosh Jha.
The brother of former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi has maintained the money was received after the sale of a car (Opel Astra) that he had bought from a Delhi businessman Sumit Jenna.
Jenna had denied selling the car to Yadav.
