Last week, during the Budget Session, the Congress had taken on the government over rising incidents of communal violence in the country.
New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday met President Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the political situation in the country. The meeting came even as a decision on the issue of Leader of the Opposition post in the Lok Sabha for the Congress hangs in the balance.

Sonia herself had been vocal about the issue saying the communal violence had increased ever since the Narendra Modi government came to power.
