144. Vidisha is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Vidisha Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Vidisha falls in Vidisha district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,03,390 voters in the seat, which includes 1,06,248 male voters, and 97,138 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Vidisha recorded a voter turnout of 74.02%. In 2013 the turnout was 72.6%, and in 2008 it was 65.63%.
In 2013, Shivraj Singh Chauhan of BJP won the seat by a margin of 16,966 votes (12.53%). Shivraj Singh Chauhan secured 54.51% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 12,336 votes (13.54%), registering 48.02% of the total votes polled.
