In Telugu cinema, festivals and national holidays are usually marked by a number of announcements and promotions for films. This New Year was no exception. Several posters were released throughout the day and one of them was that of the much-anticipated sequel to the 2014 horror comedy Geethanjali. The fact that this follow-up, titled Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi, marks Anjali’s 50th film career milestone makes it even more noteworthy. Producing the movie under the banners of MVV Cinema & Kona Film Corporation are MVV Satyanarayana and GV.
Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is being produced as a big-budget horror comedy film. The movie will be distributed throughout India in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The shooting for the film is underway
The makers released a unique poster on the occasion of the New Year 2024. In the first glimpse, Anjali is seen dancing in a run-down building striking a Kuchipudi pose. The stunning first image is reminiscent of Jyothika assuming a similar stance in the critically acclaimed horror flick Chandramukhi, starring Rajinikanth. Internet users have been debating whether Chandramukhi influenced the poster alone or if the entire script was lifted from Chandramukhi.

Popular Malayalam actor Rahul Madhav was brought in by the producers. In addition to Anjali, the movie stars Rahul Madhav, Brahmaji, Ali, Shakalaka Shankar, Satyam Rajesh, Satya, and Srinivas Reddy. The creators are optimistic that this follow-up will outperform every horror-comedy movie ever made in Telugu cinema.
This sequel is directed by Shiva Turlapati. Suhatha Siddhartha is in charge of the cinematography, and Pravin Lakkaraju is managing the music. Kona Venkat is the writer of the story. Many of the technicians and actors who previously collaborated on Geethanjali will reunite for the sequel. Since not much has been revealed about the project yet, it is not known whether the film is a direct sequel or a spiritual sequel to Geethanjali.
