Apple iPhone 16 Series Expected To Launch With These New Features In 2024
Apple is considering a design change for the standard iPhone 16 models, potentially going back to the vertical camera layout seen in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

After the successful launch of the iPhone 15 series in 2023, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has reportedly started working on new iPhone models, which are rumored to launch with several new features and important upgrades in September 2024.

According to a report from MacRumors, the upcoming ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro is expected to have a larger display around 6.3 inches, while the ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Max is anticipated to feature an even larger display of about 6.9 inches.

Apple is reportedly considering a design change for the standard iPhone 16 models, potentially reverting to the vertical camera layout seen in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, the report said. Apple used a diagonal layout for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, and “it’s not entirely clear why Apple would revert, but one theory is that it could allow the devices to record spatial video for Apple Vision Pro,” said MacRumors.

Also, all the ‌iPhone 16‌ models might include a new physical “Capture Button,” however, its purpose is currently unknown. The ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro models are also expected to have an improved 48MP Ultra Wide camera for capturing higher-resolution photos with more detail in 0.5X mode.

As per the report, the ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Max might be the first to have a super telephoto periscope camera, offering significantly increased optical zoom. Both ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro models are anticipated to include 5x optical zoom, a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

In 2024, the standard ‌iPhone 16‌ models may see an expansion of the Action Button, a feature only available on the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ models. The ‌iPhone 16‌ and ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus are likely to feature an A17 chip, but it’s rumored to be a different version than the A17 Pro chip used in the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max models.

Additionally, iOS 18 is expected to bring new Siri features powered by large language models, while on-device AI features may stay exclusive to the ‌iPhone 16‌ models.
