Google’s big push for AI for smartphone users is severely limited to the premium consumers and that’s likely to be the case at least until later this year. The company’s Circle to Search AI feature made its debut on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and then rolled it out for the Pixel 8 Pro model in January.
But what about other Android users, when do they get this new Search feature? Samsung has reportedly shared a timeline which might leave many of you disappointed. As revealed by Samsung Netherlands recently, Circle to Search could come to other Android devices this year but only after October 5, 2024 which probably coincides with the launch of the Google Pixel 9 series this year.
The source of this information is not credible, especially when the main Samsung division is yet to comment on the feature expansion. But surely Google and Co. will have the AI feature up and running on more devices in the coming months, and not 6 months later. If not all, at least bring the feature to older Galaxy and Pixel models that are available and still new on the market.
The Pixel 8 Pro model got the feature via a new Pixel Drop update last month. As the name suggests, all you have to do is draw a circle on any image to get details about the product or any item from the internet.
That’s right, Google is calling it Circle to Search, and you can just circle to search, simple. If you get the Samsung phone, you can do this drawing using the S Pen that comes with the Galaxy S24 Ultra model or use the Pixel 8 Pro which also has Gemini Nano capabilities baked into it.
