OnePlus has brought the latest Google Android features to its OnePlus 5T devices. The Chinese smartphone maker has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update wherein the users of the OnePlus smartphone will be able to avail the Android Oreo features on their smartphones. In addition, as OnePlus promised earlier, the Face Unlock feature that debuted with the OnePlus 5T is now available on the OnePlus 5 devices as well.
The new Google Android 8.0 Oreo update is being made available to the devices through an OTA (Over-The-Air) Update via OxygenOS V5.0.3. The version has been rolled out after a brief period of dismissal of its previous version V5.0.2 following some bug fixes. The new Oreo update offers a CPU Security Patch, Bug Fixes as well as a new design for Quick Settings. In addition, the update carries a new version for the Weather, Launcher, Gallery as well as File Manager apps. The update will also offer the basic Oreo features like the Picture-in-Picture, Notification Dots, Autofill and more.
A new addition for local font compatibility has been mentioned by OnePlus in its forum: “We’ve added an APK called Mkey, this is a font resource that was provided officially for India for local font compatibility needs. This can be uninstalled by users if not needed or wanted, but we are required to provide it."
