New Delhi: It seems Chinese electronic manufacturer Xiaomi is finally coming out of its slumber and geared up to release the next Mi smartphone.
Xiaomi co-founder and senior vice president Liwan Jiang has confirmed on Weibo that the next iteration of the flagship device- the Mi 5- will be unveiled on February 24.
Liwan had earlier revealed a few details about the anticipated successor which will come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 820 chipset.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumoured to come with a 5.2-inch QHD display and include 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. A variant of the flagship device is expected to come with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The February 24 launch event would mark Xiaomi's first release in 2016 and after almost a year and half's sabbatical, the occasion is expected to show off more than just the flagship smartphone.
The electronics maker further reveals that 2016 will also be about some 'core components of breakthroughs in key technologies; exploring the establishment of millet (Xiaomi) laboratories, research VR / robots and other cutting-edge technology.'
