Pooja Bhatt Shares Thought On Youth's Participation In Bigg Boss: ‘They Are Engineered Differently'
Pooja discussed her experience on the reality show Bigg Boss and offered insights into the mindset of the youth inside the house.

Pooja Bhatt, known for her candid demeanour and insightful perspective, recently shared her thoughts on the youth dynamics within the famed Bigg Boss reality show. Following her stint on the OTT version of the show, Pooja has now embarked on a new journey with the web series Big Girls Don’t Cry. During an interview, Pooja delved into her experience on Bigg Boss and emphasised how the youth in the show are “engineered differently.”

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Pooja accompanied by her team from the series Big Girls Don’t Cry, shared her perspective on the distinct mindset of youth inside the Bigg Boss house. Reflecting on her experience on the show, Pooja said, “I just came out of the most mass-appeal show called Bigg Boss, after fourteen weeks. The youth there are engineered very differently from this lot.”

She further added, “I remember telling them that I just did a show with people who are truly the youth because they were all sixteen, seventeen, eighteen. Twenty-six is not youth. Twenty-eight is not youth, in our business; you’re over the hill at that age. It was a reality check, but nobody wanted that reality check.”

The Sadak actress reflects on the concept of sisterhood in contemporary society. In response to a teammate’s assertion that women can achieve remarkable feats together, Pooja agrees, yet adds a nuanced perspective, stating that there exists diversity among women, just as there is among men. “So, I think I know some of the greatest feminists in the form of men. And I know some of the most patriarchal women out there too,” she added.

Shifting the focus to her latest project, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Pooja praised the casting directors for their insightful selection of actors. The show, which premiered on Prime Video on March 14, features a talented ensemble cast including Avantika Vandanapu, Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, Lhakyila, Afrah Sayed, and Akshita Sood. Alongside Pooja Bhatt, the series also stars Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, and Mukul Chaddha in significant roles.

Directed by Kopal Naithani, Karan Kapadia, and Sudhanshu Saria, the TV series follows a group of young girls as they tackle life’s challenges in Vandana Valley. In the series, Pooja plays the role of principal of the school, Vandana Valley.
