Popular singing reality show Superstar Singer season 3 just finished on a high note with Atharv Bakshi from Jharkhand and Avirbhav S from Kerala as joint winners. In the grand finale titled Future Ka Finale held on Saturday, August 3, the winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh each, along with the winner’s trophy. While Avirbhav garnered the most audience votes, Atharv was chosen by the judges, captains and chief guests for his consistently stellar performances. Apart from these accolades, 12-year-old Atharv was also praised by super judge Neha Kakkar and Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal for his performance.

While the victory is still sinking in for the young champion, Arthav shared that he feels responsible now. Atharv also opened up about his journey on the show and his musical inspirations for the future.

“This is a big opportunity for me because Vicky Kaushal Sir, Neha Ma’am (Neha Kakkar), and the guests who came on the show had praised my singing. After becoming the winner, I feel the responsibility. Now my future aspirations will only be about my music career,” Atharv told Hindustan Times, on being asked about his future goals and the sense of responsibility that comes with his recent win.

Reflecting on the praise he received from Ghazal singer Talat Aziz, Atharv shared, “Talat Aziz Sir praised me a lot when he came to the show. He said, ‘This kid sang the song in the same way I take the murkis during singing.’ It feels really good when people give me so much love and blessings.”

During his conversation with HT, Atharv also spoke very fondly of his parents’ support. He said, “My parents have always supported me. They handle me with a lot of care as we live together. My father was initially skeptical about my music since he also had a band during his college days. When he allowed me then I started watching Idol 10. Since then I have taken even more interest in music. The support of my parents was very important to me.”

He further said that he draws inspiration from Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Neha Kakkar, Javed Ali, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

Addressing his young fans, Atharv advised, “I want to tell all the youngsters that whether it’s cricket, music, or any other field, do it with all your heart and work hard for it. Just like there is riyaz in music, cricket requires practice. Keep doing all this regularly for your growth. One needs to stay focused.”

Talking about his learnings during the reality show, he said that he had learned a lot from his mentor Pawandeep Rajan and judge Neha Kakkar.
