Actor Gurucharan Singh, renowned for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has appealed to his industry colleagues to offer him some work. The actor caused concern among fans after his sudden disappearance earlier this year. In April, Singh was reported missing, but he returned to his Delhi residence after 26 days and stated that he had disappeared to pursue a religious path.
His disappearance sparked widespread speculations. Social media was abuzz with rumours that the actor disappeared due to financial troubles and lack of work.
Singh has been a part of TMKOC since its debut in 2008. He left the show in 2013 but was back due to public demand. After his exit from the popular show in 2020, Singh was replaced by actor Balwinder Singh Suri.
Recently, while talking to Pinkvilla, the 51-year-old actor requested the industry people to give him work. He said, “I want to tell the industry people that I’m available, I need work. I want to work with my heart because I enjoy working. If you can, please call me on my phone number and I am available on Instagram. I want to do a lot for my fans.”
“I’m not sure about what I should do. I felt I should do something from which fans should get something. I don’t want to give lectures or teach them anything, but I want to share real-life experiences that will benefit them. Even if I become beneficial for one or two people, it will be good,” he added.
Recalling his initial days in the city of dreams, Singh said, “When I came to Mumbai for the first time, I had a very strong feeling. In just six months, I bagged Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. No one knew me then. Now, the world loves me. This is my second inning and I need support from the industry.”
The actor left his fans wondering if he will be returning to TMKOC as his beloved character Sodhi after he recently met the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi in Mumbai.
