The bromance of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan is not an unfamiliar topic for Indian cricket fans. The dressing room buddies have been captured engaging in banters on many occasions. Their friendship, however, is not limited to the cricket field. In various social media content, Gill and Kishan have been spotted cracking jokes and pulling each other’s legs. Virat Kohli, one of the veteran members of the Indian dressing room, has now spilled the beans on the friendship between the youngsters. The 35-year-old batting icon is now involved in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Taking time from his cricket assignments, Virat Kohli recently featured at a public event where he engaged in a light-hearted conversation with Gaurav Kapur. During the interaction, Kohli was asked to share his view on the bonding between Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. The question received a loud cheer from the crowd as everybody seemed interested in the anecdote.

Virat Kohli also replied with a hearty smile and wasted no time in labelling Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan as the “Seeta and Geeta” of the Indian cricket team. The fictional names that Kohli mentioned must not be unknown to Indian movie buffs.
Legendary actress Hema Malini portrayed the characters in a Bollywood film, Seeta Aur Geeta, which hit theatres in 1972. The story of the movie revolves around identical twins with contrasting personalities who support each other under any circumstances.
Referring to Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan’s inseparable bond, Virat Kohli said, “Sita-Gita, Ishan aur Shubman. They are really good friends. Basically, they cannot stay alone on tours. If you invite them to eat, they will come together, invite them for a chat, they will come together only. I have never seen them alone and apart. But genuinely, they are great friends.”
Like Kohli, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan have been playing in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Gill replaced Hardik Pandya as the captain of Gujarat Titans ahead of the season. Under his leadership, the champions of the 2022 IPL have yet to show consistency. They have managed three wins in six games so far in this IPL. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has aggregated 166 runs in five matches for Mumbai Indians this season.
