Cheating, infidelity, property disputes and lack of communication are some of the reasons over which couples fight. Have you ever come across a married couple fighting over adulterated milk? Yes, one such incident has now come to light. A married couple has been visiting the family counselling centre in Agra Police Lines, after the wife complained that her husband adulterated milk with water. An intense argument erupted between the two, which resulted in the wife leaving the house of her husband. She is currently staying in her maternal home. The couple is being counselled by counsellor Dr Amit Gaur in Agra Police Lines. Dr Amit Gaur said that a young man from Rajkhera, Rajasthan was married to a girl from Rajpur Chungi, Agra two years ago. The husband earns his monthly income by selling milk. Often when he went to sell milk in the city, he would add water to the milk tank. It helped him in garnering profit from each buy. With the help of water, he increases the quantity of the milk.
His wife was completely against this. It appears that she was unaware of this practice by her husband and immediately decided to raise this issue after she discovered this fact. The wife reportedly said that she does not like the income earned through adulterated milk. When she tried to stop her husband, the matter escalated into a fight. A few months ago, the wife left her in-laws’ house and started living at her parents’ house.
During counselling, the husband says that if he doesn’t mix water in milk then he will incur loss in the business. To compensate for the loss, water is added to the milk. Dr Amit Gaur said that a compromise should be made between both the husband and wife. The wife is adamant about her decision to return, only if her husband stops adulterating the milk. As per the media reports, the counsellor has called the couple again for counselling.
The adulteration of the milk is a common practice, which is followed by milk vendors to make a profit illegally. It can also pose serious health hazards.
