Dating applications are all about finding love and choosing your potential partner. To capture the interest of their matches, individuals frequently go the extra mile, investing effort into crafting engaging messages. However, a man’s initial message on a particular dating app recently sparked widespread internet attention. The recipient of the message shared a screenshot on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, prompting laughter on social media.
The woman, who hailed from Bangalore, created a profile on a dating app only to receive a message far from what she expected. The text popped on her screen left her surprised and she immediately took a screenshot of the same to share it with her followers. As displayed in the screenshot, the man, in his first text, asked, “Morning. What you up to?” In another message dropped subsequently, he mentioned, “Last few weeks have been super hectic for me as we are in the middle of fundraising.” Accompanying the screenshot was a text that read, “The first message you get on a dating app in Bengaluru.”

The post shared on March 30 has managed to accumulate close to 70,000 views with many taking to their X handle, sharing their responses to the weird approach of the man. An individual reacted to the video, “Lol. What happened to good old…hello, hi wassup, are you free, etc.? Sigh.” Another expressed, “This made me laugh. A nice respite in the middle of the hectic day since I’m in the middle of fundraising.” A user remarked, “He just wants to rant.”
Conversely, an unconventional pickup line used by an unnamed Bengaluru man made headlines a while back. An X user shared a screenshot of her Bumble chat. It shows her match using a pickup line that raked in numerous likes.

Her match said, “I was performing a merge of your life branch with mine branch, and it merged successfully without any conflicts. I guess it’s the patch (aka match) we were looking for. Should we make it live by pushing it to production from dev by meeting up over a coffee together?”
