Flying often comes with high expectations of a seamless and comfortable experience, from swift boarding to on-time departure and arrival, alongside attentive service and quality amenities. However, the reality of flying can sometimes fall short of these expectations. Delays, cancellations, cramped seats, and subpar food are not uncommon, leading to frustration and disappointment among passengers. Despite advancements in aviation technology, the complexities of air travel can still result in a less-than-ideal journey. While for many air travelers, these issues are all too common; a recent incident shared by a frustrated Indian passenger has once again brought these issues to the limelight, sparking outrage on social media.
The passenger took to social media platform X (Formerly Twitter) on March 3 to share his troubling experience with SpiceJet Airlines.
According to his post, he had booked a ticket from Bengaluru to Darbhanga and back to Bengaluru to take his elderly parents for medical treatment. However, he faced a series of flight cancellations and revised timings that left him and his family stranded and distressed.
In his post, he expressed his frustration, saying, “Fly spice jet has made flying a joke. The rescheduling and cancellation is rampant and at the end of the day the passenger is getting screwed by these operators and the government does nothing. Honest taxpayers of this country are the worst class citizens.”

He went on to explain how SpiceJet cancelled both flights and offered him alternative flights via Mumbai with an eight-hour layover on the outbound journey and a four-hour layover on the return journey. Despite reluctantly accepting these alternative flights, the situation only worsened at Mumbai airport.
“After waiting for 8 hrs at Mumbai airport, they rescheduled the flights with an hour’s delay. No communication, no announcement, no alerts on messages, nothing. Just rescheduled,” he mentioned.

The alleged lack of communication and support from SpiceJet further worsened the passenger’s frustration. He criticised the airline, saying, “These airliners are making money on the perils of their passengers. There is zero support from SpiceJet on rescheduled passengers. They want the money from the passengers but don’t want to deliver on their commitments, neither providing any support for the passengers suffering from the bad operations.”

The passenger has further posted that the airline was extremely mismanaged and had urged others to not travel with them.
